Untitled – pArts Gallery

This installation was designed for an audience to walk through the space and listen to sections of an interview between the my father and grandfather on surviving the Armenian genocide.  The audio recording was divided into sections and experienced through several speakers dropped from trees throughout the space.

The intent was to have the audience, by virtue of their location, function as the creator of what he/she heard in the foreground and in the background of the experience. In addition to designing sitting spaces for the audience within the installation, the space included large trees, two video monitors projecting discordant imagery, and a live mouse on a wheel, all emphasizing both the “naturalness” and the “unnaturalness” of that environment.
